Switch's associate artists are Mark Butcher, Robin Dingemans and Helen Schoene.
Mark Butcher is a live artist and experimental theatre practitioner exploring participatory performance. His recent work has experimented with taking control of groups of people, issuing them instructions, putting words in their mouths and making them play out scripted scenes and scenarios.
Robin Dingemans is an artist working across and between the disciplines of dance, physical theatre and live art.
He creates work with a robust conceptual grounding that is witty, insightful, touching and refreshing. Using film and live performance he creates vivid images that are confronting and stimulating to the audience, while also engaging on subtle empathic levels. His work often takes inspiration from personal experience and geo-politics (although the latter is rarely referenced explicitly).
Robin often incorporates film, as an interactive element or as a tool to support or subvert what happens on stage. Helen Schoene creates and performs very visual and tactile pieces of art that are based on fiction in its widest sense: literature, paintings, legends, dreams.
Her work draws on the playfulness and the possibilities of imagining and constructing worlds and characters. Helen uses the interaction of surfaces, materials, textures and the human body to create and echo sensations of the surreal and make hidden paths visible.
As well as our Associate Artists we work regularly with other emerging artists including: Nelly Alfandari | Ania Bas | Katharine Fry | Martina von Holn | Yoko Ishiguro Nor | Rachel Parry | Maggie Tran | Alys Williams
